Xavier Mbuyamba could leave Barcelona as the young talent is currently unsettled at the club and could be looking for new challenges in the near future.
Even though the talented Dutchman still has a long-term contract with Barcelona, the lack of opportunities to progress and advance through the ranks have forced him to reconsider his options.
According to Voetbal International, Mbuyamba has already informed Barcelona that he would like to take on a new challenge despite enjoying a fruitful spell with the Catalan outlet.
The 18-year-old talent was a regular in Barcelona’s U19 squad in the Youth League and, interestingly enough, regularly trained with Barça B and even with the seniors under Quique Setién. So this does come as a bit of a surprise to some.
The same source states that there are multiple teams interested in the youngster and Xavier Mbuyamba could leave Barcelona with Chelsea being seen as the favourites for his signature.
The likes of Ajax, Real Madrid as well as some German and Italian teams were also quoted as interested or have simply inquired about the Dutch talent but we’ll still have to see if anything comes out of it.
Even though Barcelona still see potential in him, they can’t give him any promises and that seems to be the biggest problem at the very moment. Of course, the whole situation with the recent outbreak has certainly played a part in creating a rather complicated situation for both the club and the player himself and it seems their relationship has since deteriorated.
Mbuyamba is also not the only Barcelona talent that’s attracting interest from abroad as the youngsters at the club seem to be in high demand.
