Barcelona B forward, Abel Ruiz, could end up in a different club, in Spain, due to lack of playing time, according to a report coming out of Catalonia.
It is no secret that Barcelona’s B team players have been shy of much playing time this season, and that could soon have repercussions for the Catalan side.
According to Barcelona-based news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, the 19-year-old forward has interest from a fellow top-tier club in Spain.
Namely, La Liga side Valencia have been mentioned as a possible destination for Ruiz. Valencia’s potential interest stems from the future of French forward Kevin Gameiro being somewhat uncertain, although it seems unlikely that Gameiro leaves the club, given his newly found importance under newly appointed manager Albert Celades.
However, the possibility of Abel Ruiz joining Valencia could increase, if the former Atléti man leaves Valencia, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Olympique Lyon are reportedly interested in Gameiro, and are willing to make an effort to secure his signing. The French side believes that a good offer could convince Valencia, who have declared fellow forward Rodrigo Moreno intransferable, according to the Barcelona-based news outlet.
This would not be the first time where Valencia’s interest in Ruiz becomes apparent. In fact, in the most recent transfer window, Ruiz garnered interest from Valencia, who have taken a liking to the Almussafes-born player. Levante were also reportedly interested in the forward, whose current contract runs out in 2021.
This season, Ruiz has had five direct goal involvements in 15 appearances, for Barcelona’s B team, having scored three goals, and set up an additional two.
