Barcelona’s progression to the UCL paves the way for Pedri and Frenkie de Jong to potentially feature in the next round.
Barcelona’s advancement to the quarterfinals following their victory over Napoli opens the possibility for two of their most important players, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri, to play in the next round.
According to Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo, the Canarian player could be available for the Clásico, and now that the team has reached the Champions League quarterfinals, both he and the coaching staff and medical team believe he could contribute to that tie, even if it’s in the second leg. His muscle injury in the rectus femoris of his right leg was less severe than initially expected, providing him with the opportunity to play in the Champions League and also against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu. The Canarian player desires to play, but his sensations will ultimately determine his level of participation.
As for Frenkie de Jong, the chances of him playing in the next Champions League tie are even clearer. The Dutchman suffered a sprain in the lateral collateral ligament of his right ankle but has been recovering well, and it is expected that he will be able to participate without issues in the first leg of the quarterfinals. Additionally, Ferran Torres will be able to play in this tie after fully recovering from his injury.
