FC Barcelona confirmed the news about Camp Nou re-opening its gates in a new form, serving as a vaccination point in the Catalan capital.

On March 23rd, Joan Laporta and the Spanish Minister of Health, Alba Vergés, shook hands in agreement to open the so-called Sala Berlin-Camp Nou FC Barcelona vaccination center. It is scheduled to open on the 27th of May.

The Department of Health in Spain were keen on this possibility, in order to make a symbolic statement, which will spread awareness about the importance of vaccination in current times.

It is expected that 4 vaccination points will be set on the premises, which could see up to 2500 people getting their dose on a weekly basis. The Sala Berlin center will operate for 3 consecutive weeks.

FC Barcelona provided further instructions to the citizens of Barcelona in their official statement:

“The pedestrian access will be enabled through access 20, located on Calle de Elisabeth Eidenbenz. The possibility of accessing the site by a vehicle will also be offered through access 1, located on Avenida de Joan XXIII. Both subject to proving a prior vaccination appointment.”

“The care coordination of the vaccination point will be from the Hospital Clínic, which will provide the nursing staff, and also from CAPSBE and CAP Sarrià primary care, which will be provided by administrative professionals for registration and citizen care.”

Camp Nou will return to its old ways after these 3 weeks, to be prepared for the upcoming season.
