That was the words of Juninho, Lyon’s sporting director, when he spoke to Téléfoot Chaine after their game against Marseille on Sunday evening.
After their 1-1 draw against Marseille on Sunday evening, Lyon’s sporting director confirmed that it’s entirely possible that their star forward Memphis Depay could join Barcelona on deadline day.
He added, “Depay has 12 months left on his contract. He has an agreement with Barcelona, we’re not hiding that. It is possible that he signs for Barcelona tomorrow, but it’s not certain. Out of our players, he is the most likely to leave.”
Di Marzio is reporting that Memphis Depay will be joining Barcelona from Lyon on deadline day.
At the same time, Barcelona are in the process of trying to sell Ousmane Dembele to Manchester United. ESPN’s Moisés Llorens is reporting that Barcelona expect a call from the Manchester club on deadline day.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Depay agreed personal terms with Barcelona 20 days ago. He says that Barcelona and Lyon will start pick up the negotiations in the next few hours. Barcelona will be bidding 25 million euros + add ons. He also confirms that the Dembele to Manchester United deal is still on.
Fabrizio Romano emphasises that the Depay deal will only be completed if Barcelona manage to sell Ousmane Dembele to Manchester United. He says that the English club want the Frenchman on loan, while Barcelona are pushing for a permanent deal. Negotiations are ongoing.
