Joao Cancelo reaffirmed his wish to stay at Barcelona in an interview with ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’.
A few days ago, Joao Cancelo confirmed, during his presence at the premiere of Ronald Araujo’s documentary, that he wished to continue at Barça, reiterating his desires in an interview with the Italian outlet ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’. “I still don’t know what my future will be, but I want to stay at Barça,” the Portuguese player made clear. He also added, “I grew up with Ronaldinho as an idol, and I am proud to wear the Barça shirt.” The defender remarked, “It hasn’t been an easy year. Barcelona is a very particular club. The coach said he’s leaving, the team has had ups and downs throughout the season, a dynamic that’s hard to explain, but football always gives you the opportunity to redeem yourself, and a victory against Napoli would be a vindication.” He continued, “In football, there are good moments and less good moments, just like in life, and we must remain positive and united.” Speaking about the opponent, he said, “I’ve always liked Napoli because of Maradona, and because it’s a neighborhood team, popular, with deep roots in the city,” and regarding the first leg, he commented, “We had a great first half and should have scored more. We were superior, they did little, but now we start on equal terms.”
