Even though the young American winger has given his ‘OK’ to a contract renewal with the club, Hertha Berlin are showing interest in Konrad de la Fuente.
The 18-year-old forward is currently plying his trade at Barça B but it looks like he has some offers on the table that could give him first-team football in the immediate future.
According to a new report by Mundo Deportivo, even though he has already given his ‘OK’ to the club for a contract renewal, Hertha Berlin are showing interest in Konrad de la Fuente.
The new deal should extend his stay until 2023 with an option for two additional years, should both parties agree on it. But per the same report, the Bundesliga option also seems quite interesting to the youngster.
If Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, Hertha Berlin, who have American owners, would like to impress their investors by bringing in one of the bright American prospects to the squad.
Of course, De la Fuente is also an U-20 international for the United States and has been dubbed for a great future, both on club and national team levels.
As of right now, however, the 18-year-old is focused on the upcoming Barcelona B games and as we know officially know, football in Spain will be back in early June, as was confirmed by the country’s prime minister, Pedro Sánchez.
The Catalans’ B squad still has the upcoming playoff games to take part in as they chase that promotion chance into Segunda división A, and Konrad will be there to help them achieve it.
For that reason, it will be quite interesting to see if anything comes out of this latest transfer rumour.
