Hansi Flick is excited at the possibility of coaching Barcelona.
Hansi Flick, former German national team coach and ex-Bayern Munich manager, currently without a team, has been one of the initial names to emerge as substitutes for Xavi at the helm of Barcelona’s bench.
According to Alfredo Martinez of SPORT, the so-called ‘German route’: Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann or Flick. Of all of them, Flick seems the most feasible. People very close to the former German national team coach said he is particularly excited about the prospect of coming to train in Barcelona and has confided this to his close associates. As reported by ‘Bild’ in Germany, Flick has wasted no time and has started studying Spanish just in case.
Not only that, it is said that he is a scouting assistants who speak both German and Spanish so they can serve as a bridge in case he is chosen for the Barcelona bench. Two names are currently circulating in the German football orbit. One is coach Oscar Corrochano, of Spanish origin, who coincided with Flick in the under-21s when he was the coach and has a long history as both a player and a coach.
He has coached several clubs and worked in youth academies such as Hungary’s under-21s and would be delighted to try the Blaugrana adventure. The other is Christian Fiel, current coach of Nuremberg and of Galician origin, also with an extensive career. Flick is embracing the Spanish culture, just in case.
