Luis Filipe Silva, Geyse Ferreira’s agent, spoke out on an Instagram Live transmission about the Brazilian forward’s future, seeding further doubts.
Geyse joined Barcelona Femení in June of 2022, and has since become an important part of Jonatan Giráldez’ side that won the Women’s Champions League this season.
She joined from rivals Real Madrid Femenino, having spent 5 seasons with the club from the Spanish capital.
In recent days, there have been rumors about a potential renewal to reward her for her great debut season, but other rumors suggest she has garnered interest from elsewhere, including Manchester United, from which Barça signed Ona Batlle recently.
Her agent, Luis Filipe Silva, the head of the Orange Blue Sports agency, turned to Instagram Live to seed further doubts.
“I don’t know if she’ll stay or not. Me and Geyse never said anything, Twitter posts don’t mean anything – she’s posted ‘have a great week’ many times,” he said on Instagram.
“Markel [Zubizarreta] and the coach Jona [Giráldez] the reality, they know what we told them. I don’t know if she’ll stay,” Silva added.
Since joining Barcelona, the Brazilian has had 24 league appearances, registering 17 goals and set up a further 7. In the Women’s Champions League, she’s scored 5 goals and had 5 assists in 10 games.
The forward currently has a contract until 2024.
