Sources close to Hansi Flick deny that Barcelona have already spoken to him directly.
A week after Pini Zahavi, Flick’s agent, was in Barcelona to witness the Barça-Getafe match and meet with President Laporta to discuss the former German national team coach and ex-Bayern coach, Sky Sports has provided new details about the German coach. According to the German television channel, the first concrete conversations between the Blaugrana club and Hansi Flick would have already taken place. The same information outlines that Joan Laporta is Flick’s main supporter at Barça and that he was a coach already on his radar before signing for the German national team. Additionally, the decision has not yet been made at the Blaugrana club, but Flick is willing to become Xavi’s successor on the Barça bench.
However, according to Roger Torello of Mundo Deportivo, sources close to the German coach denied that Barça has already spoken directly with the German coach.
Flick leads the list of coaches from the German path that the Blaugrana sports management has been tracking, but he is not the only candidate. As this newspaper also reported, De Zerbi, Arteta, and Luis Enrique are also highly regarded at the Blaugrana club, although the latter two are difficult options because they have started new projects at Arsenal and PSG, respectively.
