Ewa Pajor and Barça in general have been largely unstoppable. Scoring goals and playing beautifully. Here is a short coverage as they embark on the US leg of the preseason games.
Watching Barcelona Femení last season, it is near impossible to imagine them getting any better. But if anything can be taken from their three preseason games so far, they have picked up exactly where they left off. No surprise there.
This time, Ewa Pajor leads the attack line. Three games, 4 goals and 2 assists. Things seem to be headed in the right direction for her and the team. She has fit right in. It didn’t take long for her to introduce herself to eager culés, with a clean, close range finish against 1899 TSG Hoffenheim Frauen.
Ewa could have been the missing piece in the Blaugrana army. For so long, it felt like despite creating a lot of chances, Barça needed a proper striker to do a better job of converting them into goals. That was especially prevalent in the UWCL first leg match up against Chelsea, last season. Thanks to Pajor, it is all possible now.

Statistics do not lie…
Against Montpellier, she scored two goals and assisted twice, with the third disallowed due to possible offside. In the same game, Esmee Brugts put in a notable shift from the left wing. She was all over Montpellier’s defense, including arriving in the box and scoring once. Pajor’s first goal was off of an Esmee assist. Rolfö’s input cannot be overlooked as well. As usual, she did Rolfö things. Even scored.
In the Trofeu Joan Gamper match against AC Milan, Pajor opened the scoring with a fine header from Graham Hansen’s pinpoint cross. Graham and Pajor, something we could get used to. Alexia Putellas sealed it off with a fantastic, long range goal.
So far, all of the players have put in incredible shifts. Sydneyjoy Schertenleib for example. She dazzled the 5000+ crowd at the Estadi Johan Cruyff with impressive footwork and movement. Alba Caño, filling in at central midfield was really good, earning herself a spot in the first team dynamics.
They are set to kick off the US tour on Tuesday, against Bay area’s very own Bay FC. Then on Friday, they will fly to Dallas to face Dallas Trinity FC. Both games will reportedly air on Barça One. This being only the third time they are in the US, Barça will be sure to do some marketing in between the matches as well.
It is still early but Pere Romeu’s team looks exciting and so does the future. Visca Barça!
