New signing Dani Olmo spoke to Barcelona’s official channel, Barça One, in an interview following his homecoming.

Following an intense round of negotiations, Dani Olmo finally put pen-to-paper on a six-year deal to complete his transfer from RB Leipzig.

The deal was announced by both clubs Friday afternoon.

Speaking with Barça One in an interview following the signing of his contract in the Camp Nou offices, the player was full of excitement for the future.

“I’m very happy to be back home, with my family, with teammates from the national team. I’m so excited to get going,” Dani Olmo told Barça One in the interview.

“”I came here to fight for all titles possible. We’re Barça and we should be competing for everything. We have the team, we have the players, we have technical staff. Let’s fight for it all,” he continued.

The negotiations as Blaugranagram previously reported were intense, with a lot of back and forth between the clubs. But Leipzig agreeing to let Dani go if the offer was satisfactory was never the issue, he admits.

“They were intense, but that’s normal. We reached an agreement with Leipzig pretty quickly and I really appreciate that. It’s been my dream, but Barça’s commitment to bring me has to be emphasized. I’m proud that they want me, and proud to be here,” the La Masía graduate confirmed.

Olmo was one of Spain’s standout players in the EUROs alongside Lamine Yamal, and having played with some of Barcelona’s players for a while with the national team, he’s excited to play with the ones he hasn’t shared a pitch with yet, too.

“I’ve already played with a lot of Barça players. I’m excited to see them and other quality players like Frenkie and Lewandowski. I’m ready and so excited to get out there and win,” the 26-year-old stated.

His official presentation ceremony will take place shortly before the Joan Gamper trophy game against Monaco kicks off.
