After discussions between FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta and the Minister of Health Alba Vergés, it was announced that the Camp Nou will be a center of mass vaccination against COVID-19. The Stadium would be added to the six large venues distributed throughout Catalonia.
Technical teams from FC Barcelona and the Ministry of Health will work in the coming weeks on a plan to turn the Camp Nou into a possible space for mass vaccination against Covid-19 , after president Joan Laporta and the Minister of Health Alba Vergés reached an agreement this morning.
The Camp Nou would thus be added to the six major vaccination points distributed throughout Catalonia (Fira de Barcelona, Fira de Cornellà, Pista de Sabadell, Pabellón 11 de Setembre de Lleida, Palau Firal de Girona and one more space to be specified in Camp de Tarragona), if there are enough doses to make a massive appeal to the population.
According to the Ministry, the objective is to vaccinate 70% of the population in the shortest time possible, until reaching a rate of 500,000 weekly vaccinations. The big challenge, however, remains the availability of doses.
FC Barcelona, through a release, displayed their total predisposition and maximum commitment to society in the face of the major challenge of vaccinating the entire Catalan population as soon as possible.
