Brighton and Bournemouth are showing interest in Monchu and the youngster is flooded with all kinds of proposals.
The 20-year-old Ramón Rodríguez, more commonly known as Monchu, has been one of the best Barça B players in the ongoing season. And not only that, but his performances have also attracted some interest from abroad.
According to Mundo Deportivo’s recent report, García Pimienta’s young captain is on the radar of multiple teams from Spain, Italy, Germany and mainly England and the Premier League.
The news outlet states the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth are showing interest in Monchu and they have been monitoring him for a while now. If Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, the English outfits would be willing to move for the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window.
Still, the youngster does have a contract with Barcelona until 2021 and has been called up to train with the seniors by Quique Setién, which could be a great sign for his immediate future.
For that reason, he is calm and aims to finish the campaign strong. Barça do have an option to automatically extend his contract to 2023 but if there isn’t a place for him in the first team in the near future, Monchu may consider leaving Catalonia and looking for a chance elsewhere.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 20-year-old once LaLiga finally resumes, hopefully sooner rather than later. With Barça B also yet to play in the playoffs looking for that promotion and the seniors trying to clinch another title, Monchu just might be needed on both fronts.
