Several players from Barcelona’s first team alongside members of the technical staff tested positive to the coronavirus, but have since recovered.

The season edges ever closer to its resumption, particularly in Spain, where the first post-pandemic game will take place on June 11.

The latest tests carried out by LaLiga showed that no coronavirus cases were present in Barcelona’s ranks, although a report from the Catalan news outlet RAC1 now says that Barça has had players and staff members alike hit by the coronavirus before recovering prior to LaLiga’s recent tests.

According to RAC1, five Barcelona players alongside two members of the technical staff tested positive to the first serological tests that operate through blood samples. On the day of LaLiga’s most recent tests, the players and staff members in question were clear of the virus, showed no symptoms, and were risk-free.

The report adds that the information was not made public by Barça, as it is LaLiga themselves who control what info is announced.

Barcelona’s first match following the enforced break will be against Mallorca on Saturday, May 13 at the Son Moix. The game will kick off at 10:00 PM local time.
