As Hansi Flick prepares his squad for his first season in charge, he counts on Pablo Torre, following the 21-year-old’s impressive performances.

The pre-season preparations have given Hansi Flick a lot of thinking time and options; amongst those is Pablo Torre who has impressed the technical staff heavily. Having scored the only goal in the closed-door friendly against Olot, then impressing against Manchester City as well as against Real Madrid, he’s seen as a good prospect within the club.

Last season, Torre plied his trade in the Spanish top flight, where he had 29 appearances for Girona, scoring a goal and setting up another two in the process. His level of play increased as the season went on, and coming back to Barcelona, in pre-season he has looked extremely solid, always a passing option for his teammates, and drives the ball forward with purpose. He also hasn’t looked afraid to shoot from far out, giving Barcelona yet another threat in attack.

According to Spanish news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, the 21-year-old midfielder now finds himself in Hansi Flick’s good books, despite a quiet start to his relationship with the new head coach. With the amount of international games coming up this season, injuries could very well once again plague the course, and in that instance, Torre could very well be an excellent option.

Flick is against shortstopping the youngster’s potential, and sees him in the first team dynamics this season, unless Torre himself expresses a desire to leave, whether on loan or permanently.

His entourage has told Mundo Deportivo that they aren’t making any decisions on his future as things stand, but instead are taking things game by game until the transfer window closes.

Pablo Torre signed from Racing Club two years ago, and his current contract with Barcelona runs out in 2026.
