The Barcelona B team has decided that Álex Collado will be its first captain, accompanied by Mingueza, Oriol Busquets and Jandro.
For the up and coming 2020/21 season, Barcelona B have appointed as main captain the Masia youngster and star Álex Collado. He will be supported by other homegrown talent such as Òscar Mingueza, Oriol Busquets and Jandro Orellana. The four captains are set to lead their last preseason match this Saturday in the Johan Cruyff Stadium agains Cornellà.
At a BarçaTV interview, Collado has stated that the decision to stay this season was in order to convince Ronald Koeman of giving him minutes with the first team. Collado is determined to be successful at Barcelona and feels privileged to have been selected as captain of his team.
Alex Collado has had an impressive career playing for all categories of Barcelona. He was part of the team responsible of winning UEFA Youth League back in the 2017/18 season. He made his official debut with Barça B on March 17, 2018 in a clash against Lorca. Since then, Collado has started in 61 matches and found the net 10 times. Under Ernesto Valverde, he played his first minutes with the first team when his side won against Celta the Vigo 2-0 at the Camp Nou.
