The operation to bring the Bosnian jewel to Catalonia is still in full effect as Barcelona are adamant on signing Pjanic despite Arthur’s firm decision to stay at the club.
It seems that Barça are not yet ready to give up on the idea to bring Miralem Pjanic to the Camp Nou as the negotiations between the clubs continue.
And not even that but according to a new report by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are adamant on signing Pjanic despite Arthur’s firm decision to stay at the club, which was communicated to both parties by the player himself and his mother.
But regardless of the Brazilian’s stance on the matter, Barcelona want Pjanic and Juventus also want him gone to make space for Rodrigo Bentancur and also to relieve their salary budget a little bit.
Mundo Deportivo also claim that the Italians are using all kinds of different tactics, both in the negotiations and via media manipulation, to somehow still get Arthur to sign. And that’s exactly why the outlets in Italy have been posting stories that are extremely contrasting to what the player himself and his entourage have been claiming all along – the young midfielder is happy at Barça and does not plan to leave the club.
It’s also interesting that the same report states that the Catalans were indeed ready to sacrifice their player in order to land Pjanic but they can’t force him to leave since he still has a valid contract at the club.
But even though that might be a problem, they are still working hard to get the deal over the line without the Brazilian being added to the equation. That will, of course, require someone else to enter the operation or Barça will have to offer money instead.
