Without having a return date yet, LaLiga is already establishing protocols and measures to start the process of resuming the competition. Step by step, it is working towards recovering normality so that football can return.
Each club must strictly follow what LaLiga establishes, while always keeping the health of everyone involved as the priority.
According to the Spanish news outlet, SPORT, after a video conference where the medical representatives of all the clubs met with LaLiga representatives, both parties agreed on a new protocol in which players, coaching staff and dressing room staff must undergo a coronavirus detection test.
In Barcelona, according to the same report, they have already arranged for it to take place at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper, starting Tuesday, where the complete first team — both players and staff — will arrive to Sant Joan Despí, and without having to get out of their cars, will have the corresponding tests carried out by health personnel chosen by LaLiga. They will be then able to go home, and the test results can be known minutes later.
Before being able to return to training — which is the first step in bringing back football, no club can have any infection. Although the exact date is unknown, it is expected to return in May, as long as the protocols and measures are strictly followed.
Finally, LaLiga, per SPORT, specifies that the tests must be carried out on players and staff every three or four days. This focus on maintaining control will then help establishing a return date for the return of football in Spain.
