Barça B expects the approval of the RFEF and the CSD to restore activity, as well as to start preparing for the ‘express’ playoff.
The Spanish Football Federation has decided to end the second division B season through ‘express’ playoffs that will define promotions into the second division of Spanish football.
The LaLiga teams have returned to their activity under specific sanitary security protocols, after a week back, they could be joined by teams from the third category of football. The promotion playoffs are about to be played in Murcia in the facilities of San Pedro del Pinatar with definitive dates still to be specified.
According to the Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Barcelona B team is expecting the approval of the Royal Spanish Football Federation [RFEF] and the Superior Sports Council [CSD] to restore the training sessions and prepare the upcoming matches that García Pimienta’s team seeks to win to achieve promotion.
On Tuesday of this week, the B players will take the COVID-19 tests, according to the same report, so that as expected the individual training sessions will start later this week, if everything goes well, on Friday. The process to return to normality depends on the progress of the area, in this case, Barcelona.
On account of the progress of the situation in Spain due to the coronavirus pandemic, the playoff could be moved to July.
García Pimienta’s team has some of its key players training with Barça’s first team, in addition to being reinforced with several players from a category below, Juvenil A and the ‘signing’ of Ansu Fati who is yet to make his debut with Barça B.
