Ousmane Dembele is not showing any signs of wanting to renew his contract with Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, it’s because Barça are convinced Ousmane Dembele has agreed to join another club this summer.
There’s still stalemate in Dembele’s contract situation. Barca will not raise the offer they put on the table before Christmas. Dembele isn’t showing any signs that he wants to renew, despite his good form under Xavi. On their end, Barça are convinced Dembele has an agreement in place with another club. Dembele denies that.
Barcelona offered Dembele a new contract in December. According to club sources, Barcelona will not improve that offer. Therefore it’s up to Dembele and his agent Moussa Sissoko to decide if they want to either accept that offer, or leave when his contract expires on June 30th.
Despite refusing to sign a new contract, Xavi Hernandez has not sent the frenchman to the stands, as was initally expected. Instead he’s given Dembele a key role in his team. And the winger has flourished ever since. Since the start of February he has provided seven assists and scoring one himself. Under Xavi, the 24-year old seems to be enjoying his football again.
However, club sources tell Mundo Deportivo that Barça are “99% convinced” Dembele already has an agreement with another club. They are so certain that the player wants to leave that they’ve been looking at replacements. Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Barcelona are considering making a move for Leeds’ Brasilian right winger Raphinha.
Dembele himself denies having an agreement with another club, according to Mundo Deportivo. Although PSG is tempting him.
