In the upcoming days, FC Barcelona are expected to officially announce the arrival of Jordi Cruyff, son of legendary Barça player and manager Johan Cruyff, as part of Joan Laporta’s team.
Since he was elected as the President of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta has had to work on arranging a board and team that would allow him to work on solving the multiples issues that the club currently faces. On the football front, he has elected Mateu Alemany as his main man. Additionally, now Jordi Cruyff will also be part of the team.
Cruyff was chosen as the technical secretary by Joan Laporta in his new project even before the last elections were held. However, due to issues with his contract at his current club, Shenzhen Football Club of the Chinese Super League, his arrival had been delayed. According to Catalunya Radio the club is confident in solving these problems and he is expected to arrive and start working as of next week, just after El Clásico on Saturday.
Jordi will be in charge of the technical secretariat and will work alongside with the general director of football, Mateu Alemany, and above Ramon Planes, who will continue for two more years at the club. He has gained the trust of Laporta thanks to his involvement in important signings, such as Pedri and Ronald Araujo, still under the management of Josep Maria Bartomeu.
