Ansu Fati injured his hip in training on Friday and will miss the first pre-season fixture against Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
Barcelona confirmed that Ansu Fati suffered a contusion in the right hip during the Friday morning training session. There is no set return date for him yet but the club added that “his recovery will determine his availability.”
Ansu Fati was recently away with the Spanish national team, where he managed to become the country’s youngest ever goalscorer with his goal against Ukraine. He played the entire 90 minutes against Ukraine, and was subbed on at half time against Germany.
With the lack of pace up front, Ronald Koeman will be hoping Ansu Fati can return as soon as possible.
