Young midfielder Álex Collado has decided to continue as a Barcelona player. The Spaniard has turned down numerous offers and has finally chosen to stay for atleast one more season with García Pimienta’s Barça B.
Collado, being one of the most promising talents of Barcelona’s youth squad, was off the pitch due to a serious injury for the latter months of last season. Despite of this fact, rumours had it that the youngster was close to leaving the club, supposedly on good terms. Even recently, a loan move to Girona was almost closed.
But contrary to the rumours, Álex Collado is reportedly convinced that he should continue at Barça B for one more season, and that this is the decision which will be the best for his future. Having full confidence in coach García Pimienta, the player believes that it is the best way to regain the level of play that led him to train regularly with the first team, which consequently lead to him making his debut with the first team in an official match .
Collado has conveyed a message to the management stating his desire to continue for one more season in the hopes of getting a similar chance to prove and establish himself. With Ronald Koeman appointed as the new manager, Collado believes that the club’s commitment to hire young players will win him a vote of confidence from the Dutchman.
