This Barça Atlètic is not only struggling to win games this season, the situations at the reserve team seem to rise and give different feelings for each passing day.

In this report, we highlight some crucial insights situations that the subsidiary team is facing and has raised many questions and doubts among culers for Barça Atlètic.

A struggle to win games

The team led by Albert Sánchez continue to struggle to win games this season. The performance and especially the results has marked a very low expectation to the fans unlike last season under Rafa Marquez.

Since the start of the season, Albert Sánchez and his boys has only celebrated four wins in 21 games, faced 5 defeats and 12 draws which put Barça Atlètic very close to relegation zone with 24 points.

With a bunch of talents in the team and the results and performances not going well has made the fans calling for change of coach which is unlikely to happen at this point of the season.

Contracts expiring

Another major issue the subsidiary team is facing is the contract expiration of some of the major players. As it stands, three of the team key players contract will expire June this year and the feelings around does not look very well advanced.

Among the three key players are: Pau Prim, Unai Hernández and Aleix Garrido. Regarding Pau Prim’s situation, the 18-year-old defensive midfielder has been excluded from the team squad list for three consecutive times which clearly indicates that the future of the youngster is outside of Barça. According to multiple reports, his move to Qatari side Al-Sadd is all but official.

In matchday 21, Unai Hernández who has become a vital part of Barça Atlètic team with 9 goals and 3 assists for Barça Atlètic this season, was benched for the first time this season against Ourense. Per multiple reports, he is negotiating his transfer to Al-Ittihad for a figure between 5 to 6 million euros. Aleix Garrido, however, continues to maintain his spot in the team.

Among the players whose contracts expire in June are Juan Piera, Diego Percan and Álvaro Pérez, also known as Trilli.

Injury crisis

Injuries has been another big blow for the Blaugrana subsidiary side since the beginning of the campaign. The team started the season with most of the players absent due to injury; nothing has changed from this view and the team continues to struggle with injuries.

A total of seven players make up the list of injuries: Dani Rodríguez, Alexis Olmedo, Noah Darvich, Diego Percan, Trilli, Victor Barbera and Oscar Ureña.

The league is already in the second half phase and the challenges seem to rise for Barça Atlètic. The team’s top performer, Unai Hernández, is expected to leave at this stage, where the team needs him the most. Most of the team’s powerful attackers are out due to injury, emphasizing the undeniable truth: the struggle is still on the horizon for Barça Atlètic.
