The 22-year-old youngster, who impressed heavily against Manchester City, has already attracted interest in Germany, Italy and Spain.
So far, Hansi Flick has been impressed by the level of the squad, and Gerard Martín was one of the names that reportedly caught his attention when reviewing tapes of the club’s youngsters after he was appointed head coach.
The Barça Atlètic full-back joined the team in 2023 from UA Cornellà whose senior team he joined just two years prior. He’s since shown a lot of potential and according to reports is seen as a player who could feature regularly in rotation with Alejandro Balde who just returned from a six-month long injury.
Following his impressive showing against Manchester City in pre-season, Martín has already caught attention from several clubs around Europe. According to Spanish news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, several clubs in the Spanish top flight, as well as clubs from Germany and Italy, have Gerard Martín on their radar with his contract running out in a year’s time.
However, neither he nor the club are giving the proposals the time of day, as he is happy in Barcelona, and the club look forward to involving him in the first team dynamics under Hansi Flick.
His current contract with Barcelona runs out in 2025.
