Barça Atletic captain Marc Casadó fulfills a lifelong dream by making his La Liga debut.
Marc Casadó, captain of Barça B, finally made his long-awaited debut for Barcelona in the league against Atlético Madrid. The Sant Pere de Vilamajor native had previously debuted in the Champions League last season but had not yet played in the league. The midfielder entered the field in the 82nd minute wearing the number 30 jersey, expressing, “It’s a dream come true to have played in La Liga with Barcelona.” After 17 call-ups to the first team, he had not yet had the opportunity to debut in the league but had already done so in the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk and Antwerp.
Casadó also shared, “My teammates helped me to stay calm. For me, it’s a dream to debut in La Liga; I had already done it in the Champions League, and when they called me to come on, all the emotions came out. It’s been a dream since I was a child.” He also described the rise of La Masia as something spectacular, saying, “In the end, for young players, it’s something spectacular. Many La Masia kids are playing, and we have to thank both the club and the coach for that. La Masia is the essence of Barcelona. The goal is to continue getting minutes in the first team, and for that, you have to work very hard.”
