As was being keenly anticipated, Xavi’s first decisions in the area of medical services have arrived, with Juanjo Brau, head of physiotherapy, being sacked by the club.
Xavi Hernández already announced during his presentation that medical services was an area that genuinely concerned him. So much so that one of the first decisions he has made as coach of FC Barcelona is to disassociate with the services of Juanjo Brau, head of physiotherapy in the first team. According to AS, the club informed Brau this morning that he would stop working in the dressing room and that they will inform him in the coming days of his functions within the organizational chart of the club. Brau’s replacement will be assumed by physio Carles Nogueira, a member of Xavi’s staff at Al Sadd.
According to AS, Brau will not be the only casualty within the medical services in the first team, there will at least be one more exit in the physiotherapy department, since Jaume Munill, who returns to the first team, joins as of this Tuesday after spending two years in the futsal section, and possibly also that of a doctor, with the club waiting for Ricard Pruna to leave his current team Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
The future of the physical trainer, Albert Roca, is also in the air, since the arrival of Iván Torres closes the doors to his continuity. It is planned that this Tuesday at 9 am Xavi’s new staff will meet with the current ones to communicate the new functions of each moving forward.
